This website would not be possible without the collective contributions of countless people around the world to various projects and services, the majority of which have been released under some form of free licence.

34SP

Professional Web Hosting provided by friendly and knowledgeable people based at the company in Manchester

Fam Fam Fam

Small but perfectly formed icons made by Birmingham based web developer Mark James.

Joomla!

A Content Management System released under the GNU/GPL Licence powering the majority of pages on this site, allowing me more time to work on the content side of things.

Open Street Map

Project spawned from an idea by Steve Coast to free people from the licences strangling the use of mapping data, particularly outside the United States (especially the Ordnance Survey) - hosted by the VR Centre of the Built Environment at University College London - and built by the work of thousands of contributors around the world.

Open Layers

A project from MetaCarta based in Cambridge, Massachusetts to provide a common interface to the various mapping APIs (e.g. OpenStreetMap, Microsoft Virtual Earth, Google Maps).  Released under a BSD-Style Licence.

Inspired by James Cridland's blog posting entitled talkSPORT copies from Virgin again but this time I'm happy this website proudly displays the Union Flag at the bottom of every page to show that this website is maintained and hosted from here in the United Kingdom - birth place of Tim Berners-Lee the inventor of the World Wide Web.
